Crema De Fruta - Gandara Bakes!

Making Crema de Fruta is neat because you don't have to bake it. As long as you have a fridge and the ingredients needed, you're good to go. Let me show you how to make this creamy and beautiful crema de fruta with clear jello on top. I honestly didn't know I can nail it.

I won't put exact measurements on the ingredients. Because I don't know if you wanna make a lot or just a little. I'll just write the ingredients you'll need. Then you need to adjust the rest to match your preference.

Bacon Rolled Shrimp - Gandara Cooks!

I got this idea from Ochikeron and the recipe is so nice and easy. Though I made slight adjustments to the recipe and I want it to match to our Filipino taste and also substitute some ingredients that can be easily access by an average Filipino. This is one is a little bit sweet.

Ingredients:
6pcs shrimps - Ideally, "Sugpo" (black tiger shrimps) are preferred. But you can use a little bigger "Suahe".
3 bacon strips
salt and ground black pepper
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp sprite or 7-up soda
calamansi

6 toothpick sticks

Next Dish: Singapore Prawn Noodles Soup





When I saw the effort and how rich that soup is, I decided I'm going to make this.

Let's see how it would go. But I'd like to put some fish sauce in it somewhere. We'll see...

Pope Returned Safely Back to Rome with my Sister Carla- Gandara Reports!

First of all, let me say "To God be the glory.
So at 5:19ish AM today at TV5, Carla was asked by Lourd if she washed her hands. You know how we Filipinos kid around if some popular and big people shakes hand with us. Some would say "I will never wash my hands ever again!!!" aaaand my sister said:

"Oo naman!"  (But ofcourse!)

LOL LOL and LOL! But before any person criticize Carla, let me  tell you something.

Rose Steamed Bun - Gandara Steams!


Rose-shaped Siopao (Mantou or Steamed Bun). They don't really taste any different from regular steamed bun. Its just that, they are too pretty to eat. I came across this YouTube video tutorial on how to make it and I tried it myself upon realizing I have all the ingredients on hand. They're very simple and I bet you can make yours too!

I bet you'll have all the ingredients you need in your kitchen or sari-sari stores near you except for the food coloring. So when you get a hold of a red food coloring, you can do this right away. 

You might be able to do it better than I did. Next time I'll be doing this, I'll make the sides thinner because at the same time, mine looked like pink poops. LOL

Cheese Soufflé - Gandara Bakes!

When we say "Soufflé" it means lightly baked. So the batter is still wet but edible. Dish of this type are
served hot and almost straight out of the oven.  I first found this out by watching MasterChef and wondered what it taste like.

Here in the Philippines, I tried to find bakeries and restaurants that prepares Cheese souffle. I didn't find any
(atleast not anywhere near me) that's why I had to make one following some recipes I saw online.

Pepperoni Pizza Lumpia - Gandara Cooks!

I love pizza and I love Lumpia. So why not cross-breed these two? Tadah! Today, I present to you my Pepperoni Pizza Lumpia. 

This is indeed one scrumptious snack for you and your family to enjoy. Sad news however, for mozzarella cheese lovers, this wouldn't have mozzarella. Since these little guys need to be deep fried, we have to use a more 'sturdier' cheese.

After school, I go there and order their ever famous 'chicken ala playboy'. Oh! That carinderia's name is 'PlayBoy'. So I guess, that would make sense...

Losing Weight Without Exercise - Gandara Advices!

Like I said on my previous post, I put the PRO in procrastination. I am one lazy girl who finds exercising another "work" on top of my already busy life. Yes, I juggle 2 jobs (1 main and 1 little sideline) in a daily basis and these jobs calls me to sit infront of my computer all the time.

With stress piling up, eating had become my escape. And with less physical activities, I grew bigger and bigger. Last time I checked my weight, I was at 95kg. But when I saw I'm hitting 120kg, I know I have to do something. I started feeling the consequences of being fat not only in my social life but also with my health. I have to do something but I just can't seem to like exercising. Similar to a child not wanting to eat his vegetables.

The Struggles of Being a Plus-Size - Gandara Remembers!

Believe it or not, I was at 120kg. I do love food but it seems like I love food
way too much that I haven't paid attention to my body. I eat and sleep a lot. 
That time, I had a boyfriend who kind of accepted me for who I am. Though our relationship isn't really a romantic one, I was assured that I have a partner and that being fat is okay.

However, that relationship didn't last and when we broke up, that made me look at myself in disgust. Sometimes, I don't even want to see my own reflection in the mirror and try to look away whenever I see glasses at malls. I just can't look at my body.

Why Can D' Light? Why Gandara? - Gandara Explains!

I've been wanting to have a neat blog site for years now its just that in the past, it wasn't really a priority. Another thing is that, I have so many things I'm interested in that I can't seem to have a blog that will solely focus on one niche alone. But hey, its 2015 now. Maybe I can make it happen this time!

Just like any other bloggers, coming up with a blog name and a screen name can be quite challenging. Until one day, I saw in some YouTube DIY channel how the guy made a lamp using empty cans. It was probably a can of sardines or soup, I don't know. I would normally throw empty cans right away. However, he managed to make it useful and beautiful. That's where I got my inspiration. 

Now, to explain Can D' Light and Gandara:
